ORETF
Mixer/Loader/Applicator Exposure

Mixer/Loader/Applicator Exposure

One of the ORETF objectives was to generate generic exposure data that would satisfy regulatory requirements for exposure data to professional lawn care operators and home owners who mix, load and/or apply pesticides in a residential setting.

This objective was accomplished by monitoring:

  • Professional lawn care operators who mixed and applied granular products to turf;
  • Homeowners who mixed and applied granular products to turf;
  • Professional lawn care operators who mixed and loaded wettable powder, water dispersible granules, water soluble packets or liquid formulations into trucks;
  • Professional lawn care operators who sprayed liquid products on residential lawns;
  • Home owners who mixed, loaded and applied liquid products to residential lawns;
  • Homeowners who mixed and applied pesticides to gardens and ornamentals.

All ORETF mixer, loader and applicator studies were conducted according to established regulatory guidelines for exposure studies and the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations. These studies also met the requirements of CDPR and PMRA.

The generic mixer/loader/applicator data are being used in conjunction with product-specific toxicological, residue, and use data for doing product-specific residential risk assessments.
